When someone asks you, "Which NFL teams have never played in a Super Bowl" it would seem that the answer would entail more than ten teams. You'd be wrong. The Super Bowl is the ultimate goal of any NFL team, but there are only six that have never played in a Super Bowl.

Which teams never played in a Super Bowl gets tricky when you look at realignment and teams that have moved. Here's the complete list of teams that have never played in a Super Bowl:

  • Houston Texans
  • New Orleans Saints
  • Arizona Cardinals
  • Detroit Lions
  • Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Cleveland Browns

For the teams like the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars, they can point to the fact they are expansion teams. But for the rest, especially the Detroit Lions, it's amazing that a team can be in the leauge for so long and never make it to a Super Bowl.
