What is the record of Ty Cobb homeruns?

Although he never hit more than 12 home runs in a season, Detroit's Ty Cobb had athree-homer game - and went 6-for-6 with five runs batted in - on May 5, 1925, against the St. Louis Browns at Sportsman's Park. Cobb's mark of 16 total bases - the Tiger star also singled twice and doubled - has been matched only by Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Pat Seerey, Rocky Colavito and Fred Lynn in American League history.

Joe Bush permitted Cobb's first-inning homer and was the losing pitcher in the 14-8 game. Milt Gaston was the pitcher of Cobb's third homer, in the eighth inning. Elam Vangilder. Gave up a homer to Cobb in the second inning.
