Southern California's Anthony Davis put on one of college football's most stirring offensive displays on December 2, 1972, scoring six touchdowns as the Trojans drubbed Notre Dame, 45-23, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The sophomore tailback collected his first and fifth TDs in dramatic fashion. Davis took the game's opening kickoff and sprinted 97 yards for a score; then, after Southern Cal's lead had been reduced to 25-23, he went 96 yards on a kickoff return late in the third period.
