When did Hank Aron hit his 714th home run recordSubmitted by fortheinfo on Tue, 2007-08-28 09:27.
On April 8, 1974, Hank Aaron of the Atlanta Braves became the major leagues' all-time home run king, hitting his 715th in a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Atlanta Stadium and surpassing Babe Ruth's total of 714. Al Downing was the Dodgers' pitcher off whom Aaron homered in the fourth inning and the losing pitcher in the Braves' 7-4 victory. Darrell Evans the Braves' third baseman was on base when Aaron connected, having reached first on shortstop Bill Russell's error. |
