St. Louis first baseman Jim Bottomley drove in a record 12 runs on September 16, 1924, leading the Cardinals to a 17-3 triumph over Brooklyn at Ebbets Field. Bottomley went 6-for-6.

Art Decatur was the Brooklyn pitcher who Bottomley collected six of his runs batted in. Decatur yielded abases-loaded homer to Bottomley in the fourth inning and a two-run homer in the sixth.
